Obesity is a pathology recognized as disabling or even disabling. Some overweight people are rejected, others are judged and criticized.
Certainly, junk food, lack of interest and lack of sports activities are involved in these overweight individuals. But in other circumstances, it is more the environment, genetic and educational environment that is undermined.
This is why these obese people, those who indulge in their compulsions, are often excluded by society. The latter would like the "big" to take over the body of the evil they are victims.
Thus, overweight people will seek comfort and support from their family or circle of friends. Yet this is not the most recommended alternative.
What to avoid
Recently, the American journal Personal Relationships (1) publishes a study conducted by the University of Waterloo in Canada. This highlights the counterproductive effect of the pressure of relatives on the overweight of those who are already in anxiety by contributing to their excess pounds.
As for loved ones, they are even more concerned about the suffering of their overweight spouses, children, and friends. The reflections fuse: "Move around"! "Do not eat that"! "You should do this or that"! According to this Canadian study, such remarks are of no use. It is the opposite: they amplify the guilt of the overweight person, increase their anxieties and, again, make them throw themselves on food, fat products, sweet and salty.
